The
Lancaster Amateur Radio Club works hand in hand with the
Lancaster Office of Emergency Management. During emergencies, hams when
directed can handle messages for fire, police, the office of emergency
management and other public service organizations during all kinds of
emergencies including:
- Power outages
- Snow storms
- Earthquakes
- Tornadoes and floods
- Motorist accidents
- Fires and chemical spills
- Search and rescues
The Lancaster Amateur Radio Club's facility
is located adjacent to the Office of Emergency Management and maintains
ham radio station W2SO and a local VHF radio repeater system that are ready for
